#2609 Technique Analysis: Final Boss by @mbmocs

Mario and Yoshi are primed for the final boss fight against Bowser. But oh no! Princess Peach is trapped in a cage, floating overโ€ฆ banana lava??? ๐ŸŒ‹๐ŸŒ

While the lava is eye-catching, we think there are some excellent hidden secrets (also involving bananas) as you dig deeper into the build.

@mbmocs told us:

๐ŸŒ โ€œI quickly had the idea to include Yoshi together with Mario, using a red banana for the tongue. Then I thought about how I could integrate Peach into the scene.โ€

๐ŸŒ โ€œAgain the banana parts (this time in dark bluish gray) turned out to be the perfect piece in order to achieve the shape I was going for.โ€

๐ŸŒ โ€œWhen the Botanical Garden set from LEGO Ideas was revealed in October (set no. 21353), it introduced the banana peel part (item no. 5215) in green and I knew I wanted to switch out the flower stem.โ€

๐ŸŒ โ€In the end I feel like the lava turned out to be the main eye catcher, even though I started out with the characters. Itโ€™s funny because if it had not been for the Super Mario figures, I probably never would have thought of using bananas this way!โ€
