Caption: Today marks the end of the 100th Black history commemoration in the United States. What started in 1926 as a week-long celebration of the achievements, contributions and history of Black Americans has grown over time to a month-long dedication to those who have helped shape the communities and culture of the USA but often go overlooked. We want to take a moment to recognize how Black Americans have helped to shape LEGO products and the LEGO community as well.

In today’s post, we cover a brief overview of the history of Black History Month and then dive into the many LEGO minifigures created in the likeness of real Black Americans. From figs for sports and pop culture fans to minifigs for history and science buffs, you will find an interesting mix in this post. There’s even an ultra-limited edition minifigure that few know exists!
