Hi, I’m Professor Tipsen! Let’s take a deep dive into making your own LETTERS and FONTS using LEGO bricks! We’ll talk about 5 different lettering techniques:
️⃣ Dots and Tiles – While this technique has been used for awhile, it became more popular in 2020 with the (now retired) Dots line and its variety of tiles! We’ll recommend 3 LEGO sets that have instructions you can use.

️⃣ Layered Plates – This technique uses two layers of plates, with the help of wedges, to create more realistic shapes of letters, especially angled ones like R, Z, and Y.
️⃣ Bricks, Arches, and Hinges – The traditional form of stacking bricks can also provide decent results when creating letters!
️⃣ Cheese Slope Letters – Hold the letters together with plates, tiles, SNOT bricks, and SNOT brackets to brace them.
️⃣ Sideways Plates – This method only uses plates! The letters need to be 5 studs ‘wide.’
